Introduction to threading tools:

The collective term for threading tools and thread rolling tools. The former is a tool for processing threads by cutting methods, such as taps, dies, thread turning tools, thread milling cutters, and automatic thread cutting heads, etc.; the latter is a tool for processing threads by plastic deformation methods, such as thread rolling boards and rolling wheels , Automatic opening and closing thread rolling head and grooveless extrusion taps, etc.

Structural features of threading tools:

Taps and dies are standard tools for processing or trimming internal and external threads, with simple structure and convenient use. The thread turning tool can be used to turn internal and external threads. It is a forming turning tool with the same profile as the thread. There are three types: flat, prismatic and round. The thread comb is a multi-tooth thread turning tool with rough cutting teeth and fine cutting teeth, so the thread can be processed in one or several cutting strokes. There are three types of thread milling cutters: disc milling cutter, comb milling cutter and whirlwind milling cutter (see whirlwind cutting). Disc thread milling cutters are mainly used to process trapezoidal threads and worms with large pitches. The comb-shaped thread milling cutter is an annular tooth forming milling cutter, and all threads can be cut out when the workpiece rotates 1.25 to 1.5 revolutions during operation.

There are oblique tooth patterns on the thread rolling board, the tooth profile is the same as the thread profile of the workpiece, and the bevel angle is the same as the thread rise angle of the workpiece. The static plate and the movable plate form a pair when working. There are three parts on the static plate: press-in, correction and exit. The thread rolling productivity is high, but the processing accuracy is low, and it is suitable for processing screws with a diameter of less than 20 mm. The surface of the rolling wheel is made with multiple threads, and the threads on the two rollers are opposite to the thread of the workpiece, and the thread lift angle on the pitch diameter of the roller is equal to the thread lift angle on the pitch diameter of the workpiece. In order to enhance the rigidity of the mandrel and increase the life of the thread rolling wheel, the diameter of the thread rolling wheel must be increased, so the thread rolling wheel is made of multiple threads. The number of lines n=D2/d2=s/t, where D2 is the pitch diameter of the thread rolling wheel; d2 is the pitch diameter of the workpiece thread; s is the thread lead of the thread rolling wheel; t is the thread pitch of the workpiece. The structure of the automatic opening and closing thread rolling head is similar to that of the automatic opening and closing thread cutting head. When the rolling thread reaches a predetermined length, the three rollers can automatically open, and the rolling head can quickly retract. Slotless extrusion taps are formed by plastic deformation of the metal when the hole wall is extruded.
